While Not Everyone is Sickened by Fresh Produce, I Don’t Want to be One Who Is Nor Would You.
There is such great debate as to whether or not raw milk is safe to drink, and I’m sure there are many people who defy the law and are drinking raw milk with no serious consequences. We are always cautioned about eating fresh produce such as lettuce, spinach, sprouts, and cantaloupes as the recent produce scare caused severe sickening, diarrhea and death. And produce continues to be sold and will also continue to be a fresh produce in question. No particular laws are put in place to monitor fresh produce and yet milk has to be pasteurized and in some cases ultra-pasteurized. When I’m not sure about the quality of food that I’m eating when I travel, or even to protect myself from food served in restaurants, I make sure I take oregano oil or oil of ravintsara which both have been known to kill a variety of bacteria. These oils are as effective as antibiotics and are not susceptible to bacteria resistance. The fresh produce and other foods that can cause severe diarrhea, that can last from several weeks to several months, are contaminated with a bacteria not a virus so antibiotics are commonly prescribed for such conditions. It is possible, to take oregano oil or ravintsara as a preventative or as a natural form of an antibiotic.
