Use Olive Oil Instead

Researchers recently reported that replacing just 5 grams (less than 1/2 a teaspoon) of butter, margarine or mayonnaise, in your diet with the same amount of olive oil reduced the risk of heart disease by 5-7%.

The same researchers found that eating more than 7 grams (1/2 a teaspoon) of olive oil per day could lower the risk of a heart attack by 20%, reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease by 15% and lower the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) by 21%.
