I truly believe everyone should. Your car can't function with some parts missing and we can't function to a peak optimal level unless we have all the nutrients the body requires.
When we are missing nutrients, over time, our body malfunctions leaving clues in the way of symptoms which are then classified as a disease, and by law can only be treated with drugs. But, the treatment should be with proper food and better lifestyle choices, and a multiple vitamin and mineral supplement.
Why?
Nutrient deficiencies exist extensively among many members of the U.S. population. Rich, poor, healthy, or sick, 92 percent of the population is suffering from at least one mineral or vitamin deficiency based on the Dietary Reference Intakes. The entire country is overfed and undernourished. Even if you consume a “perfect” diet, the odds are, something is missing.
50 percent of Americans are deficient in vitamin A, vitamin C, and magnesium. More than 50 percent of the general population is vitamin D deficient, regardless of age. 90 percent of Americans of color are vitamin D deficient. Approximately 70 percent of elderly Americans are vitamin D deficient.
- 9 out of 10 Americans are deficient in potassium
- 7 out of 10 are deficient in calcium
- 8 out of 10 are deficient in vitamin E
