New study: Researchers fed animals a diet high in sugar (45% fructose) and fat for 45 days

Some of the animals had the diet only, some also received grape seed, some received metformin, and some had BOTH grape seed and metformin. The animals eating the unhealthy diet only gained weight, and had enlarged livers and increased blood sugar and insulin levels. Both grape seed extract and metformin reduced blood sugar and insulin levels, and together they were even more effective - almost returning blood sugar and insulin levels to “normal”. It may benefit individuals with high blood sugar levels to add 150 mg of Grape seed extract 2-3 times a day.
