How to keep the virus that causes shingles inactive

Shingles are caused by a virus that lies dormant in the nervous system.  Poor diet, excessive smoking and drinking, and stress are some reasons to compromise a healthy immune system.  When the immune system is underactive, the virus in the nervous system becomes active causing the outbreak of shingles.  The virus moves up in the nervous system to break out on the surface of the skin.  Yes, shingles can be horribly painful and debilitating.  I personally don’t think a vaccine is necessary to deactivate the virus.  Every time we focus on a vaccine or drug, we take the focus off the real reason, which is maintaining a healthy diet, managing our stress, and living a healthy lifestyle.  We can’t depend on a drug for every health challenge.  To maintain a healthy nervous system and deactivate the virus, a combination formula of B vitamins to control the blood sugar level, and lipoic acid can maintain a healthy nervous system and, in turn, deactivate the virus and eliminate shingles.
