Are You Preparing for the Cold and Flu Season?

Are you contemplating a flu shot for this cold and flu season?  Check with your doctor, of course, but based on recent research and an article from the Center of Disease Control (CDC), the indication is that flu shots are only marginally beneficial.  Based on research by Dr. Michael Holick, vitamin D3 may be the best way to prevent the flu.  In his recent book on vitamin D3, he presented statistics that shows that vitamin D3 prevents 90% of all influenza.  The Vitamin D Council in Omaha Nebraska recommends 5,000 IUs of vitamin D3 daily for adults and 2,000 IUs for children.
