Vitamin D: higher vitamin D levels are associated with:
–reduced risk of viral infection
–shorter duration of illness
–less severe symptoms
–reduced risk of dying from infection
Vitamin A: found to blunt the ability of the COVID virus to bind to cells; low vitamin A levels have been associated with increased incidence and severity of respiratory infections.
Vitamin K: like vitamin A, prevents the COVID virus from infecting cells; low K levels linked to increased risk of ventilator use or even death after COVID infection.
