The largest study ever conducted on the effects of coffee intake on heart function included 11 years of data from over 450,000 participants, who reported their daily coffee consumption.

Results: versus no coffee, drinking up to 3 cups of coffee daily was linked to a healthier sized and better functioning heart, as well as: 

  • 12% lower risk of dying [from any cause]
  • 17% reduced risk of heart disease
  • 21% lower risk of stroke
