The health crises of America affects over 90% of Americans today.

Most Americans are excessively over weight, overly fat, and close to 50% of Americans are obese. 42% of white Americans are obese, while 44% of Hispanics and 48% of black Americans are obese, more than two-thirds of adults in the US are significantly over-weight or obese. This fat crises also affects children as well, 13,000,000 children in America are obese and many children are overly fat, unfit and unhealthy.

While America today is the sickest country in the world, 98% of all our treatable diseases are due to our lifestyle choices. The choices we make every day leads to overweight and unhealthy people. We are not only overweight and out of shape, we are very unhealthy.

Metabolic syndrome is a collection of conditions that often occur together and increase your risk of diabetes, stroke, and heart disease. The main components of metabolic syndrome include obesity, high blood pressure, high blood triglycerides, low levels of HDL cholesterol, and insulin resistance.

The cause of metabolic syndrome is the American diet, which is largely based on carbohydrates (carbs) and sugar. Following a low carb diet will significantly improve your health. By lowering the grams of carbs to less than 75 grams daily will provide a degree of health far better than the drugs offered today.

For more information, check out the following websites for understanding low carb diets. www.Ketogenic-diet-resource.com or www.Dietdoctor.com.

Try to reduce your waist measurement to less than 40 inches for men and less than 35 inches for women. Better yet, try to have a waist measurement that is 50% of your height. If you are 6 foot tall or, in other words, 72 inches, then your waist should be 50% of 72=36 inch waist.

Drugs are not the answer. Food, nutrition, and diet are the true medicines that will prevent and lower your risks of diseases too numerous to mention.

Most Americans are being treated for these conditions with drugs, causing side effects and other diseases that may require additional drugs, when the real treatment, may not be to your liking, but far safer and more effective is to lose weight, and include a form of activity that will assist weight loss.

We have in our control to reduce our body fat level, which therefore, will lower our risks of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and many forms of cancer. Just think of the cost savings plus a reduced level of pain and suffering. And, with the help of your doctor, you may avoid drugs entirely.

To assist in getting your weight loss and metabolic syndrome under control, I often recommend Berberine, which is complexed to gamma-cyclodextrin for enhanced absorption, along with 10 mg of melatonin. Based on 28,000 studies on melatonin, I find it is the missing link for solving most diseases. It is not just for sleep but to maintain the highest health for everyone. It is the multifunctional molecule that everyone should take nightly regardless of how well you sleep.

I just wrote my latest book on melatonin.  You can buy it at Terrynaturallyvitamins.com or on Amazon.
