Acupuncture May Alleviate Chemotherapy-induced Peripheral Neuropathy
In a pilot study involving 6 patients with chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, treatment with acupuncture for a period of 10 weeks was found to be associated with marked improvements in nerve conduction studies, as compared to patients in a control group who did not receive acupuncture. The authors conclude, "The encouraging results of this pilot study justify a randomised controlled trial of acupuncture in CIPN on the basis of NCS."
