Let’s talk about Fats and the Brain
Your brain is 60% fat.
The most abundant fat in the brain is DHA, an omega-3 fatty acid.
DID YOU KNOW?
The highest concentration of DHA anywhere in the body is in the retina of the eye. Researchers at the Georgetown University School of Medicine have developed a blood test that can predict the onset of dementia by measuring for levels of 10 different fats in the bloodstream. People with abnormal levels of fats (some fats were unusually high and some unusually low) are more likely to develop dementia than people with normal levels.
