My wife is 72 years old and is in good health; however, she is constantly getting up to use the bathroom (4-5 times) at night.

Q. Dear Terry, “My wife is 72 years old and is in good health; however, she is constantly getting up to use the bathroom (4-5 times) at night. It is really affecting her quality of sleep. Is there anything she can take to help with this issue? Thank you.” — Cameron T., Melbourne, FL

A. Dear Cameron, I do have a recommendation that your wife may find helpful. However, I strongly encourage her to discuss the use of dietary supplementation with her physician, as they may have additional input regarding a supplement regimen.

She may want to consider adding Angelica (Angelica archangelica) to her daily regimen. Angelica archangelica grows in Iceland and has been used in folk medicine for centuries – the Vikings even used this herb as a form of currency. In fact, banning the theft of angelica was actually written into some of the earliest law books in Iceland about 1,000 years ago!

Angelica archangelica extract will help to strengthen bladder muscles and increase bladder capacity. When choosing a formula, make sure to look for one that features an aqueous (water) extract of Angelica archangelica leaves that has been clinically studied. She should start by taking 100-200 mg every day before bedtime.

Healthy Regards!
