My physical therapist has recommended curcumin to help my rheumatoid arthritis.
Dear Terry, “My physical therapist has recommended curcumin to help my rheumatoid arthritis. However, I am overwhelmed by the choices and types. What should I be looking for in a curcumin product?” — June P., Oklahoma City, OK
Dear June, You would benefit greatly by adding a strong, absorbable curcumin to your daily regimen. I recommend taking 750 mg of high absorption curcumin twice daily.
When looking for a product, here are a couple tips:
- Choose one that features a curcumin with excellent absorption that has been proven in published human studies. The best form I have ever found uses curcumin blended with turmeric essential oils. This curcumin has been shown in published human studies to be better absorbed than standard curcumin.
- Make sure the product you choose is standardized for curcuminoid content. You don’t want to settle for an unstandardized or plain turmeric product.
