My doctor is talking about prolotherapy injections for osteoarthritis.
Dear Terry, “My doctor tells me I have osteoarthritis and is talking to me about prolotherapy injections to heal and strengthen ligaments and bones. Are there any other more affordable or less invasive options that I could try first?” — Linda F., St. Petersburg, FL
Dear Linda, When it comes to addressing pain, I would recommend these four ingredients: highly absorbable curcumin, boswellia, DLPA and nattokinase. Each ingredient works in a slightly different manner to get you comfortable as quickly as possible. I advise taking the four ingredients three times daily.
You may also want to consider adding highly absorbable curcumin and boswellia, along with vitamin D and fructoborate. This quartet of ingredients helps to reduce joint pain and stiffness, as well as rebuild joint structure. I recommend taking these four ingredients three times daily.
Keep in mind that standard curcumin is very poorly absorbed, so make sure the products you choose feature a curcumin with excellent absorption that has been proven in published human studies. The best form I have ever found uses curcumin blended with turmeric essential oils. This curcumin has been shown in published human studies to be better absorbed than standard curcumin. It’s also important to find a boswellia extract that is standardized for acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid (AKBA) content and has filtered out the majority of beta-boswellic acid. Unlike most boswellic acids, beta-boswellic acid is actually pro-inflammatory. Removing it greatly enhances the potency of the boswellia extract.
