My boyfriend has been struggling with prostate issues for quite some time.

Q. Dear Terry, “My boyfriend has been struggling with prostate issues for quite some time.  He did have a Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TERP) procedure done; however, without success.  Now, many of the same symptoms are back.  Do you have any suggestions to assist him with these issues? Thanks!” — Deb W., Mesa, AZ

A. Dear Deb, I do have some recommendations that your boyfriend may find helpful. However, I strongly encourage him to discuss the use of dietary supplementation with his physician, as they may have additional input regarding a supplement regimen.

I would highly recommend a formula that contains saw palmetto, boswellia, nettle, phytosterols, and sesame to help reduce prostate growth and the symptoms of Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH). These botanicals help by balancing hormone levels, decreasing inflammation, and improving urinary flow. I recommend taking 1-2 softgels of this blend twice daily. Make sure your boyfriend waits one to two months before evaluating the benefits.

There is also a clinically-studied Angelica archangelica extract I recommend that will help strengthen bladder muscles and increase bladder capacity. Angelica archangelica has been used in folk medicine for centuries – the Vikings even used this herb as a form of currency. When choosing a formula, look for one that features an aqueous (water) extract of Angelica archangelica leaves that has been clinically-studied. I recommend taking 1 tablet daily initially, then increasing up to 2 tablets daily, if desired.

Healthy Regards!
