Is there something that I can give my 6 year old son for bronchitis?

Dear Terry, “Is there something that I can give my 6 year old son for bronchitis?” — Jeanne O., Topeka, KS

Dear Jeanne, As always, I strongly encourage you to discuss the use of dietary supplementation with your child’s physician, as they may have additional input.

That said, you may want to consider extracts of thyme and climbing ivy. These two botanicals function as expectorants (helps cough out phlegm) and mucolytics (breaks up congestion). When used together they make a very excellent combination, helping to keep the lungs clear. Both herbs have been extensively researched in Germany and other European countries for use with colds, cough, bronchitis and even asthma. I suggest taking a total of 250 mg of these two ingredients several times a day. These same ingredients are also available in a liquid form that is a perfect option for children or anyone who prefers it to taking tablets.

Healthy Regards!
