Can you please suggest something for frequent urination especially during the night?
Q. Dear Terry, “Can you please suggest something for frequent urination especially during the night? I've seen many doctors and natural alternatives and nothing seems to work.” — Frank V., Phoenix, AZ
A. Dear Frank, You’re not alone when it comes to frequent urination/overactive bladder issues. About 17% of women and 16% of men over the age of 18 have overactive bladder issues. It becomes even more common as we age - affecting one in five adults over the age of 40.
I do have a recommendation that you may find helpful. I strongly encourage you to discuss the use of dietary supplementation with your physician, as they may have additional input regarding a supplement regimen.
There is a clinically-studied botanical extract that will strengthen bladder muscles and increase bladder capacity. It is made from angelica (Angelica archangelica) – the angels’ herb – which grows in Iceland. The fruits, leaves, and roots of the plant have been used in folk medicine for centuries, and it was cultivated in the Nordic countries during the Middle Ages.
I’d recommend that you start with two tablets per day – one in the morning and one at night – for the first few days, and then drop down to one tablet per day when you start to notice less urgency and better sleep. You’ll be able to tell that it’s working – just count the trips you make to the bathroom.
