As I am getting older, it seems as if my skin is becoming thinner and I bruise more easily.
Q. Dear Terry, “As I am getting older, it seems as if my skin is becoming thinner and I bruise more easily. I am very self-conscious about the bruises – they are very ugly. Is there anything I can take to help with this?” —Ted B., Scottsdale, AZ
A. Dear Ted, I would first recommend that you consult with your healthcare practitioner to rule out the possibility that an underlying condition is causing the bruising.
Assuming that your bruising is NOT due to an underlying illness, you may want to consider trying mesoglycan. Mesoglycan provides glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) – the building blocks of blood vessels – which are crucial to the actual formation of blood vessel walls, helping them to be strong, yet flexible, plus it helps keep blood moving through our arteries and blood vessels. When looking for a product, make sure to choose one that comes from a porcine (or pig) source – this ensures it’s bioidentical to the same building blocks found in our own bodies. I recommend taking 50-100 mg of mesoglycan daily.
