Vitamin B6 Therapy: Nature's Versatile Healer
By John Ellis and Jean Pamplin
Dr. John Ellis, a physician in Waco Texas, discovered many of his patients who had previously complained of arthritis, and numbing and tingling of the fingers and toes, found relief from eating pecans which are commonly grown in Texas. Of course, this was a surprise to Dr. Ellis but, after much research, he discovered that pecans were very high in vitamin B6. Working with his patients, he was pleasantly surprised that they all responded to vitamin B6 therapy for arthritis, depression, headaches, numbing and tingling of fingers and burning feet. A major discovery prompted Dr. Ellis to prescribe 50 mg of B6 daily to all his patients. After making his discovery, and 20 more years of practicing, he said he never lost a patient to heart disease after prescribing B6 for them. This book reminds me of a good, old family doctor who sincerely cared for his patients and was comfortable prescribing a vitamin that cost pennies a day. It’s a fascinating story of his discovery and also of a very unique man.
