Our guts make us sick.

As all our food has changed dramatically in the last 100 years, some of the biggest changes have occurred in the production of grains.  Grains have been manipulated to produce more protein which you would think would be an advantage, but when we start genetically modifying, we create a whole host of new problems.  Today, the proteins of grains are very difficult to digest, and therefore, ferment in the intestinal tract and feed harmful microorganisms to produce toxins that affect our immune system and brain function.  Mentally disturbed individuals, including autistic children, will in many cases improve significantly when grains are removed from the diet.  It has been estimated that the majority of individuals, and not just those who are celiac patients, are affected by grains.  The symptoms may not be the same for the celiac patient, but other symptoms as well are associated with grains such as rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, colitis and Crohn’s disease.  Our guts make us sick.  For more information on how to improve the intestinal tract, read the book, Breaking the Vicious Cycle.
