The Benefits of Coffee
Women who avoid coffee increase their risk of breast cancer. Studies show that women who drink 5 cups of regular or decaf coffee daily are 57% less likely to develop a difficult to treat type of breast cancer known as non-hormone receptive breast cancer than those who rarely drank coffee. The study was in the journal Breast Cancer Research. Not every woman enjoys coffee nor may drink 5 cups daily, but the study shows even small amounts have a strong protective effect. Coffee is loaded with antioxidants that protect cells from free radical damage. Don’t like coffee? Try ¼ to 1/2 cup berries daily or pure grape juice concentrate.
