75% of Americans are Overweight or Obese!
In 2006, the American Heart Association recommended that people cut their saturated fat to 7% of their total calories, half the amount people ate 40 years ago. As fat is cut back in the diet, food manufacturers replace saturated fat and cholesterol with refined carbohydrates, sugar and trans fatty acids. Today, the average American consumes over 200 pounds of sugar each year. The result, 75% of Americans are either overweight or obese.
