Grape seed Extract Linked to Reduced Risk of Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma

In a study involving 415 subjects with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma and 415 controls, supplementation with grape seed extract was found to be associated with a significantly reduced risk of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (adjusted odds ratio=0.26), and multivitamin supplementation was associated with a borderline significant reduction in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma risk (adjusted OR=0.71). Additional research is warranted to investigate the uses of grape seed extract and multivitamins as preventative agents against cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma.
