Q. Dear Terry, "I have a 98 lb. Labrador retriever. We are currently giving her prednisone for hip and back leg pain. Are there any natural options to help relieve her pain? I really want to get her off meds as soon as possible. Hoping you can help." - Joyce M., Wichita Falls, TX

Q. Dear Terry, "I have arthritis and a bone spur in my right shoulder, which causes a great deal of pain and limited mobility. The orthopedic surgeon told me the condition will not go away or get better.  In fact, he says it will get worse and he is recommending shoulder replacement surgery.  I'm terrified of surgery and the painful rehab stories I have read on line.  Do you think there are any supplements that might help? Thank you for your help." - Peggy B., Sioux Falls, SD

Q. Dear Terry, "I am a breast cancer survivor who is now going through menopause.  I can hardly make it through the day without having at least one hot flash. My sleep is also suffering as I am constantly taking the covers on and off all night long. Any suggestions on what I can take – I know I am not supposed to take anything that contains estrogen. Please help!!" - P.Z., Hampton, VA

Terry's Pick of the Week

A “super food” ingredient that can do almost anything!

When we turn on the faucet and no water comes out, we can generally assume the pipes are clogged.  When the heart is starving for oxygen, we can also assume the pipes (arteries) are clogged.  Well, kind of a silly analogy, but when the arteries are blocked, there is very poor blood flow carrying oxygen to the heart.  In a recent study, pomegranate, in the equivalent of 8-16 ounces of juice, or a combination of powdered pomegranate extract and pomegranate oil, were able to reduce the epithelium by 30%.  This allows more blood flow to the heart.  The 30% reduction in the participants in the study was over a course of one year, while the control group without the pomegranate extract had a 9% increase in the epithelium meaning a further reduction of blood flow.  For some people, a year may seem like a long time to use a supplement to increase better blood flow, but keep in mind that the plaque and restriction of blood flow occurred over a period of decades.

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

In All Things

God wants to help you in life. Not just in the big things, but in every detail. He wants to help you when you’re cooking dinner or driving in traffic. He wants to help you with your schoolwork, help you be more productive at the office, even help you find what you’re looking for when you’re at the store.

The key is that God will only be involved as much as you allow Him to be. Don’t just invite Him into your day on Sunday. Don’t just ask Him about the big things. Learn to hear His voice in the little things. He is big enough to handle every single detail.

Scripture says, “Acknowledge God in all of your ways.” Not some of your ways. Not just the big things — in all things. If you’ll start acknowledging God in all of your ways, He will crown your efforts with success.

A Prayer for Today

Father, today I open my heart and life to You in a fresh, new way. I surrender every detail, every moment of every day to You. I choose to acknowledge You in all my ways knowing that Your hand is upon me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
