Acute and Chronic Pain

May 11, 2012

Inflammation is the beginning of all pain.
Inflammation is the process that is triggered by damage to your body. Typically, when we think of inflammation we think of heat, redness, swelling, and pain. Pain is our warning signal that something is in need of repair. Inflammation and pain are normal and necessary when we have an injury, such as a sprained ankle. Chronic inflammation that lasts and lasts, however, is not normal and is, in fact, a disease. This type of inflammation is at the root of almost all serious illnesses, including cancer, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and painful conditions such as arthritis.

When You Look In the Mirror Do You See a Clear Complexion?

Most problem skin, including the blemishes of acne, otherwise known as zits, begins in the intestinal tract.  A bacteria that harbors in our intestinal tract is responsible for the outbreak of pimples and blemishes on our face.  Of course, applying topical creams to our face can reduce inflammation and some of the pimples at the surface of the skin.  But to really accomplish and clear acne once and for all, a complex of nutrients should address the issue of the bacteria in the intestinal tract.  Sulfur cleansing and purifying is one of the excellent minerals for detoxifying the intestinal tract along with potassium and lactoferrin, a milk protein.  A recent study indicated that lactoferrin was very instrumental in reducing the bacteria in the intestinal tract.  Other nutrients such as vitamin B6 and vitamin A are healthy for the skin.

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Take the High Road

In life, we’re always going to have critics. We’ll always have difficult people who try to upset us and steal our peace and joy. But, you don’t have to respond to every critic. You can decide to take the high road and let God fight your battles for you.

Sometimes, no matter what you say or do, there are people who aren’t going to accept you. They just don’t want to be at peace with you. In fact, when Jesus sent out His disciples to certain homes, He told them to always speak peace over those homes. And then He said in effect, “If they don’t receive the peace that you’re offering, then it will come back to you.” That tells me that if you will do your best to be at peace with people, even if they won’t take your peace, the good news is that peace will just come back to you. You’ll not only get your peace, but you’ll get their share as well! That’s double for your trouble! When you do the right thing no matter what is happening, God sees it and rewards it. Today, stay in peace, cease from strife, and take the high road. Sow good seeds into others and watch the harvest of blessing come to your own life in return.

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, I choose to hold my peace. I choose to do the right thing even when the wrong thing is happening. I trust that You are fighting my battles for me. I give You all the honor and praise in Jesus’ name. Amen.
