Q. Dear Terry, “I am interested in your diet but I am allergic to grapefruit, lemons, and limes. What can I substitute for the grapefruit and such? Thank you.” —Marla L., Billings, MT A. Dear Marla, My diet offers suggestions for types of foods to include, but these are not mandates. There is no need for you to eat the foods to which you are allergic. Just avoid them, and eat any other fruits that you are able to handle without complications. How about bananas, blueberries, apples, and grapes? There are plenty of healthy alternatives.
