Q. Dear Terry, “I have pain in my right shoulder where the bicep connects to the labrum. I’m doing shoulder rehab therapy in lieu of surgery. Am already taking the special curcumin, boswellia, DLPA and nattokinase pain formula you always recommend, which makes a difference. What else can I add to rehab this shoulder? Thanks.” — Joe C., San Antonio, TX A. Hi Joe, Glad you are doing well with the natural pain formula. There are some additional dietary supplements that will address the nerves in your shoulder, as well as the ligaments and tendons. For correct nerve function, I recommend the active form of vitamin B6, called pyridoxal-5-phosphate, or P-5-P, blended with a highly absorbable magnesium, like magnesium glycinate. The magnesium helps activate the P-5-P for superior results. I’d take one to two capsules of a blend of 30 mg P-5-P and 100 mg magnesium glycinate three times a day. To heal the ligaments and tendons, and to improve their elasticity, I prefer a multi-ingredient formula specific to these tissues. It should include the P-5-P, and the active form of vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin) along with magnesium, manganese, bromelain, zinc, vitamin C, niacinamide, and boswellia. One of the most crucial ingredients is manganese. You need at least 36 mg of manganese to have an impact on your problem shoulder, so make sure the dosing is adequate of this critical mineral. Good luck with your rehab, and please write again to let me know how you are doing. Healthy Regards! Terry . . . Naturally
